There are 500 different tribes located in Nigeria with over 500 different languages spoken. There are three major tribes which are the Yorubas, the Hausas, and the Igbos. These three tribes make up over half of the people in Nigeria. The different tribes can be very distict, through their appearances and some of their cultural practices.
The Nigerian cuisine consists of an endless amounts of dish types from the hundreds of different tribal groups. Nigerian dishes are known to ne colorful, filled with spices, herbs, and oil. Though major tribes have their signature dishes, there are so many popular dishes that are common in multiple different tibes however, such as jollof rice or rice and stew. For so many years, there has been a debate in the African community about which country has the best Jollof rice.
Music genres in Nigeria is very vast. The most popular kind is Afrobeats. This is music that is mainstream, something that every tribe creates. Most popular astists are Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. Then there are a lot of traditional music as well, music partaining to specific tribes. For example, the Hausa tribe are known for creating traditonal music with a complex percussion instrument and the Igbo tribe are known for creating their music with flutes.
