Game Reviews

Guilty Gear Strive

Guilty Gear Strive is the latest edition to the Guilty Gear series. A series known for being extremely difficult with long and hard to do combos. This changed in Strive as the game has had a lot of it's more difficult to grasp mechanics removed from the game. It still has its iconic Roman Cancel system to allow to unique combo routes. This game also has elevated the industry standard for online fights. Using Rollback netcode you can play with nearly anyone on the planet, with only a small bit of delay. This game is good for those trying to get into the fighting game community.

Dragonball FighterZ

Dragonball FighterZ is a team fighter, meaning that you must select three characters when chosing your team. This game is known for bringing waves of new players to the fighting game community purely because of the franchise and characters behind it. Made by the dependable Arc System Works, it is another visual masterpiece staying true to the original style of the Dragon Ball Franchise. This game has some insane combos as well as a very strong comeback mechanic with the use of "Spark." It's online however does not use Rollback netcode and instead uses Delay based meaning online matches with people from far away can be quite frustrating to play.

Granblue Fantasy Versus

Granblue Fantasy Versus, is another fighting game developed by Arc System Works. This game had a high potential to be the next big wave of fightings games, had it not unfortunately released during the beginning of Covid. The game would have no time to shine in the esport team leaving it long forgotten by the fighting game community. The game has an easy input system allowing for new players to easily do what would usually require difficult inputs, with a press of two buttons. It also runs on delay based netcode, which further pushed potential players away especially during the Covid pandemic.
