API Terms of Use

Because even vacations need boundaries.

Welcome, Developer Adventurer!

You’ve stumbled upon the VacationBooking Web API — an API to perform vacation request operations and generate API tokens for travel sites. Think of it as the digital equivalent of a travel agent who never sleeps, doesn’t judge your destination choices, and only occasionally throws HTTP 500s.

1. The Spirit of the API

The VacationBooking API exists to make your app, travel site, or very specific automation dreams come true. You may use it to:

  • Search and reserve flights, hotels, cars, and attractions.
  • Generate valid API tokens (we love security — please don’t hardcode them in your TikTok bio).
  • Experiment, build, and innovate — responsibly and without DDoS-ing our database like it’s 1999.

2. Thou Shalt Not...

  • Send more requests per second than a caffeinated botnet.
  • Use the API to impersonate airlines, hotels, or anyone with actual power.
  • Abuse endpoints to summon extra vacation days from your boss.
  • Sell our data, unless you’re from the future and it’s part of an ironic NFT drop.

3. Tokens & Authentication

You’ll need an API token to access most endpoints. Tokens can be generated through the /api/token endpoint after a valid travel site request. Keep them safe — they’re like your passport, except losing them doesn’t require a trip to the embassy (just a regeneration call).

4. Rate Limits

To keep things civilized, we ask that you limit your requests to:

  • 60 requests/minute per token
  • Or roughly one enthusiastic intern pressing F5 repeatedly

Abuse this and your token will go on an involuntary vacation (aka suspension).

5. Liability & Shenanigans

The API is provided “as is.” If you use it to book a flight to Atlantis, delete your production database, or accidentally propose to a database record, that’s on you.

6. By Using This API...

You agree to follow these terms, respect rate limits, and never blame us for your untested POST requests. Now go build something amazing — responsibly.

Happy coding and safe travels.
